We can help you make a sustainable impact in your community.

Our Project:
Port Hardy, British Columbia.

God's Pocket Scuba Diving Resort, located in a remote area of British Columbia, faces the challenge of limited access to clean energy. The resort has implemented Moment Energy's commercial second-life solution, a reliable and sustainable off-grid battery energy storage system, to overcome this challenge. With this technology, the resort can operate off the grid and reduce its carbon footprint while providing guests with a unique and unforgettable diving experience.

Moment Energy optimizes
energy use.

Moment Energy's battery energy storage system has a total capacity of 96 kWh at God's Pocket. It reduces the resort's diesel generator usage, serving as the primary energy source for the remote microgrid. During the off-season, the system can power over ten buildings for four days reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs while enhancing the resort's guest experience.

Our Pilot:
Westlock County, Alberta.

Moment’s client chose to take their house off-grid and rely on their own energy. After challenges working with lead acid batteries that are unreliable and require lots of maintenance, they decided it was time to try new technology.

Moment Energy provides greater environmental impact.

Working with utilities can make it difficult to run power at a site even if it is close to town. To our client’s pleasant surprise, they discovered that Moment Energy’s reliable and affordable battery energy storage system had greater positive environmental impact when compared to other battery systems. Moment’s batteries were easily integrated with our client’s existing hardware.

Our Pilot Project:
Quadra Island, British Columbia.

Located on a remote island in BC, there is no access to electricity at this site's property. This project was deployed in May 2021, and has been operating successfully since.

Moment Energy provides a reliable solution for off-grid solar power generation.

Moment Energy’s battery energy storage system enabled our client to go completely off-grid and generate their own electricity using solar power. This pack is four times as large as the first project and provides valuable information on how Moment Energy's batteries perform in off-grid sites in a regular use case, and how it responds to different loads such as pumps, heaters, and household power loads.

Our First Pilot:
Seven Sisters Fall, Manitoba.

Moment Energy’s first pilot was in the remarkable Canadian Hydrokinetic Turbine Test Center. This project was launched in August 2020, and has shown us how capable second-life batteries are.

Moment Energy batteries can easily integrate with different technologies.

Moment Energy’s battery energy storage system (BESS) is cycled there up to five times a day, giving us real-world data on intense battery-use conditions and accelerating testing time. Our BESS is able to charge off of many different sources including a hydrokinetic turbine, generator, the grid and solar. Tested out in a microgrid, we were able to demonstrate how our batteries can easily integrate with different technologies.
