Canadian Hydrokinetic Turbine Test Centre (CHTTC), Manitoba

In 2020, we deployed our first energy storage system at the CHTTC. The CHTTC is a microgrid facility located in Seven Sister Falls, Manitoba, Canada. Researchers across Canada regularly travel to the CHTTC to test new renewable technology.

Our system is being used to store solar, hydrokinetic and grid power. This deployment is providing the researchers at the CHTTC with a complete microgrid setup, while showcasing the performance of second life batteries.

Westlock County, Alberta

In June 2021, we deployed an energy storage system in a fully off-grid setting which previously had lead acid batteries installed. The Moment team installed a repurposed lithium ion battery system onsite in this Northern Albertan region.

Our system is being used to power this entire off-grid home, which includes the water pump that drives up water from a well. It stores solar energy when it is avaialable and helps the owners to use our system instead of turning on their diesel generators when solar is offline. This deployment is 4 times larger than our first project at the CHTTC.

Quadra Island, British Columbia

In June 2021, Moment Energy deployed an energy storage system at a brand new home located at Quadra Island.

Our system is being used to power this off-grid home. It stores solar energy when it is avaialable and helps the owners reduce diesel dependence by using our energy system when solar is unavailable. This deployment is 4 times larger than our first project at the CHTTC. This project is the same size and form factor as the one deployed in Westlock County.
